Diwali Nostalgia

Is in me ever since i moved to Singapore…This will b my second diwali in Singapore after 3 consecutive Diwali’s spent in India..

What i love abt MY Diwali.. absolutely shopping… When i was in India..every time i shop atleast three weeks before diwali for my gorgeous salwars to get it tailored in time.. also..3 weeks before u will get to see almost all new arrivals,with not a thick crowd looming at… the sales guys also have time to Show u all varieties..firstly they can find their own products in their respective shelfs.. otherwise as Diwali nears by.there will be mad rush… Oh My god:)..so take my tip for Diwali shopping:)

When it comes to crackers..I was never a girl who wanted to burst so many crackers.. But my brother was so interested until he was abt 13yrs.. Then v realised that bursting crackers is fun..but ultimately it all goes into smoke and so many children being laboured in those cracker factories in India.. so v slowly reduced the quantity but not stopped it… then v started to bargain(literally i mean it) with our dad..”since v are not buying so many crackers replace the same amt of money he sets aside for crackers for something useful everytime ” When  my father was with us ,we used to get up as early as 3 am..take oil bath..new dress n burst crackers like anything.. and not to forget the steaming hot idli’s with chicken curry prepared by mom as early as 8 am… mouth watering..

After my dad passed away 9 years back…our Diwali’z became more subdued..though v take new dress,the cooking is special.sahrign sweets..everythign happnes as when my dad was there..but something may be the soul was missing:( I make it a point  my mom buys everytime a new dress.. when i started earning..i buy an extra set for both my mom n brother..and then crackers became us a ritual..like jus for the sake..v burst one or two..then done.. somehow the feel started missing…

My Mom stopped making sweets at home except for the savouries after my dad passed away rather v buy it outside so that v share with neighbours n frens…

Then i got married n with Eash ard..the diwali fervor was a lil back.n then v started flying back to India for every Diwali..n this brought so much happiness at home.though there was a lil something that was missing.. Then came Yuvan to this world..and from ast year he literally enjoys crackers..all kids stuff.. the happiness is back… My mom is happy… but still feels a bit odd this time since we are not there.. anyway Yuvan’s crackers are stocked up so v go and burst it the following week..:)

One Diwali i remember very much was when i was abt 7 yrs old, v were all at my granny’s place.. My uncle was not married then…v all woke upa t 3 am..My granny gave me the pipping hot oil bath with the hot water specially heated up.n then a small pooja..new dress. n all fun with crackers.. sweets..n then yummmy food.. meeting up cousins..playing all day..:0One of the Diwali’s thatz ever green in me:)

What a week???????

Sorry guys.. i wasn’t updating cos the whole week..cos i was without laptop.. can u imagine??

yeah..it was all fyne until Monday noon..when Yuvan closed the laptop soon after i sd after clicking the shut down button”Yuvan don’t close” but the moment i sd,before i realised he closed it so aggressively that there was speaker pin that hit the LCD screen and there was a major damage.. man..i felt like hell.. i knew that the LCD needs to be changed that moment only.. after Yuvan got his share. Eash called up to find that My Laptop is till under the 3 year warranty period,but LCD will not be covered.. but i went to the service centre personally told them Wat happened n requested for a free replacement.. they sd they will try..after two days they called up n sd “cannot do” but gave a 50% price reduction that was still 750 $ + GST..:((((((((plus a free HDD replacement , as they found t some pbm with the HDD but they cd  do it under warranty.so what to do? v agreed.. i was to collect the laptop today..

and today morning the Engr called me to say ” hey got a good news for u.. lenovo agreed for a free replacement..” wow.. i told him “u made my day ” Thanks Zull n Rina!!!!!

so here m jus with windows Xp n … blogging…

Now. v are shifting to our new home this sunday..almost 95% packing and clearing done..got some more to buy from Ikea tomo.. but will be using this home till 29th simultaneously cos of traditional reasons… Yuvis down with heavy cold from todaynoon.. all cos he was helping me withall the packing with Eash buys at off 🙂

Btw.. I wish all of u Happy Deepavali… let the lightz bring u a year of more prosperity n wisdom n all good things in life:)

Missing home ..for Diwali..as all the last 3 years we had been to India for Diwali..this is my Second diwali in Singapore,first for Yuvan.. will post soon with more pics n updates… i have lots to say:) but i ‘m sure i wd be posing again only on wednesday:) if early then lets see..:)

A Sprain n the stress:(

Yuvan was very normal yesterday until at ard 9pm he came n told me and Eash that his left leg is paining..then he was ok..playing..then the frequency of complaints increased..i sensed something wrong ..and inspected his leg..he was feeling lot of pain near the thighs..that he didnt allow me to tuch..first thing that stuck me was “an urinary infection..???””checked it..But no.. ‘cos he has had same kind of pain n symptoms n then turned out to be an urinary infection when he was abt 1.5 yrs… Then i gave his night shower as a hot one..and then applied the balm..expected to be alrt..but he was crying all thru the night.. a lil patting..a few minutes sleep n then cry.ooppz..itz long since i Saw him like that…I hate to see kids like that..in so much pain n suffering..poor ones..:(

Morning he was so enthusiastic to go to school.he was even quick for the shower..but then i noticed it has become worse.. he couldn’t lift his leg to put his trouser On.. i spoke to the teacher,told her that Yuvan will not be coming in today.Called Yuvan’s paed to take an appointment immediately..But Gosh..His pead was on leave till next Friday.. so I didn’t have a choice rather to take him to the family clinic nearby where me n Eash Go..

Luckily the Doctor today was good..he checked Yuvan..made him lie flat and then bent his legs..asked him to lift up..n then he sd “very cute..he’s active n smiling even with the pain…”I know he has no more energy to cry..:() Then he gave me a balm n children’s brufen as a pain killer n dropped a bomb “ i think it may b a sprain or he got hit in his hips.. if he doesn’t improve lets go for an X-ray on Monday “ I was so upset.. He told me then ” may be an inflammation also..let him take rest..lets see on Monday how it is..” SIgh!!!

Came back home n applied the balm twice.. it was already 30 mts since i applied.. no effect watsoever.. he was whining n was clinging to me crying  ” Amma..pain pain ” even  when he does a small move..Then i applied one of the pain relief balms i always keep at home ..the one for sports injuries..normal sprain.. he felt much better after two applications.. made him a quick lunch.. he hadn’t eaten anything from last night except a cup of milk in the morning. he had his lunch n then the brufen syrup..and i could see he was bloody tired n weak..he told me he wants to sleep.. he slept for abt 3hrs..

Thank God ..he is better now.. little limping is there..but much much better than morning..no pain pain crying..whining..he is almost his normal self..can even fold his legs n sit on the floor.. i hope he is alrt by tomo evening;)

I was so much stressed and worried..though something in me sd that he will be alrt… I cant see him like that 😦

very funny..I asked him ” how are u now ?” he sd ” Better..”i went ooooooooooooooooooo

Yuvan is normal..no limping.. back to jumping,cycling and wat not?

I keep telling him not to strain again..but he seems not to hear my words 😦

An Auspicious Day :)

Today is VijayaDhasami… an auspicious day for students in all prospects….Supposed to have done pooja at home yesterday.. but since so much packing and stuffs going on.. i did give it a skip… arranged for a pooja for Vijayadasami at temple today..:)Did VidyaRamba for Yuvan at The sengkang Murugan temple today..me and my fren Mansi took Yuvan to the temple…He enjoyed a lot.. n was a instant hit at the temple 🙂

The tenth day or Vijayadasami is also the day of Vidyaramba or beginning of study when children usually begin to learn the alphabets.At this auspicious moment the children for the first time are given instructions to write the first few alphabets on rice or sand. They are thus initiated into the world of knowledge. This is called ‘Ezhuthinu Iruthu’ and according to custom only after this ceremony child becomes entitled to write or read.

Did this for Yuvan , though he has already started reading n writing to a certain extent.. But I wanted some positive vibes ..as well it has been quite sometime i went to the temple.. so peace of mind..relax.. n positive vibes again…Look at the pics below..:)

What a boring Day…

Today turned out to be a total boring day.. as Eash had to play for SCB super sixes cricket game… I had a very disturbed sleep yesterday..still woke up at ard 7.15 am to send Eash off for his cricket match at 8. Thought of catching some sleep..but believe me i didnt want to sleep though i was bloody tired.. was jus blog hopping.. Yuvan woke up n then my day started as usual… on top of it..Yuvan spilled emptied all the water from the bottle and playing happily… had to clean it..after telling him that this he was not supposed to do it.. Also pulled my Kitchen rack (plastic) down trying to take his scooter off for his bicycle ride..and took me a while to clear n arrange… anyway thanks to Yuvan..i wanted to clear it n start packing anyways …I have been thinking to start packing to move to our own home by this month end.. so that i can do a very organised packing ..Throw whatever is not necessary n unusable…

Coming back… Cooked lunch n had some small fights with Yuvan. v both had lunch n then Yuvan went to sleep…

Luckily i had rented a VCD today morning… after a long time I had a mood to watch a movie with out being pre-occupied.., I tried to concentrate on the movie.. By the time i started to watch the movie,Yuvan also went off to sleep n I enjoyed  tried to enjoy myself with the movie ..though it was not a great movie..something relaxing for me ….Yuvan slept for an hour then woke up..had juice..n then i made him sleep for another 1.30 hrs.. I tried to sleep as well..but was very conscious though I was resting.. Eash Came back home ard 5pm with the Runners up Cup… Congrats to him !!!!!

He is so damn tired n off to sleep after a early dinner… now it 9.00 pm.. Eash sleeping.. Me n yuvan enjoying watching a Dance Show… no mood to have dinner.. Yuvan’s Dinner is ready… mm… m pretty preoccupied ….

May b i will start packing today ? clearing some stuffs ?? Dunno….

Yuvan’s Classmate  n Friend Rachel kissed Yuvan Today,when we all came together out from the lift and said “Yuvan bye bye” i was surprised.they had love fights when she joined after Yuvan in to the class. I jus love her..she is such a cute dolly.. offcourse her grandma too..very nice lady… This is how it happenned..

They were playing with each other in the lift.. and then Rachel just combed Yuvan’s hair n said ..”Yuvan…. (i didn’t get it..) ” ..Out we came of the lift.. she pulled Yuvan n gave a strong kiss on his cheeks n sd ” Yuvan..bye bye..” Yuvan did say ” bye bye Rachel.. nice weekend..” wahhhhhhhh.. wat a sight.. I simply adored:) A kiss i simply loved!!! Wat a way to start the weekend.. Lucky Yuvan..:)

14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Until I Was in Singapore ,into my 8th month of Prego.nothing ..I was working until 1 week before i flew…Once I went to India.. I had Last minute

Hyper tension n Blood Sugar.. but was alright once i changed my diet n relaxed a bit… Since I had varying Hypertension I was induced 🙂

15. Where did you give birth? PSG Hospitals,India

16.How many hours were you in labor? more than 14 hrs.. but had the labor pain only for abt 3 hrs

17. Who drove you to the hospital? Since i was to be induced ,it was pre-planned ,went with my mom n got admitted

18.Who watched? My Doctor, My Anesthetist n other assisting staff

19. Was it vaginal or c-section? C – Section

20. Did you take medicine to ease the pain?

I was sedated hips down.. but with no sleep for almost more than 24 hrs n sedation I didn’t sleep a bit…though I was sedated hip down… I could feel every moment of Yuvan taken out of my tummy.. throughout My doc was talking to me and i can hear all the conversations they had ..:) I Myself Checked the Birth time with the doc and I asked the paediatrician who came to chk Yuvan “is my baby all right? ” The doc was so surprised  too.. I slept only after I was given a sedative after I was moved to the Post operative 🙂 But I shd say my gynae was amazing to me…:) Hats off to her:)

Thursday Ramblings

Yesterday was Children’s day In Singapore and celebrated in Lieu on Tuesday at Yuvan’s school… Yuvan got a Small notebook with scented erasers and a Yellow Micro tip pencil as his Children’s day Gift.He liked it soomuch that he started writing only in that little notebook with the new pencil..Though he only scribbles n draws a circle..LOL…

Happy Children’s Day to all the KIds and the Kids of Frenz…. and In India Itz celebrated on Nov14Th,in accordance with the Birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru,India’s First PM who was so fond of Children.. So jus wait for my nostalgia on my own children’s day.. jus  abt a month to go:)

Today is Gandhi Jayanthi in India. Celebrating the Birthday of “Father of our Nation ” ,Mahatma Gandhi..

I have always wondered though v celebrate ,in this present scenario atleast are v following the simple principles taught by him?No violence, love others n yourself… I doubt… But there are instances that Terrorists want to strike India on days like Gandhi Jayanthi ,Independence Day n Republic day… Wats happening to the very own base of every Human being???? Much to ponder ??????????????????????????

I’m having weird dreams ,very noncontinuous for the past 2 days,which is not the norm for me..cos m a “no dream “girl as such..i Seldom get dreams…. There was once a time when i was in 6th or 7th standard…I get weird dreams every other day..i used to be scared..like small particles of same size grow bigger n bigger n it jus surrounds me..n in the dream i will b shouting for help n i can feel that m not heard by anyone too..very scary rt? ..in the end I wd wake up with a heavy heart n a Worse headache…Then one of my christian friend ( I Did my schooling from My KG till 12th ie until 18 years in a convent school) told me..u try to pray every night and think n believe u Will not get dreams.. I dunno whether itz a coincidence or wat..from then on until now m not disturbed by any kind of those dreams though i get very rarely a dream…but these two days I’m getting weird dreams but thank God not like before…but something weird:(
