Overnight camping @ School

Ever since I received the letter to consent for the overnight prefects leadership camp, I had my mom jitters as this will be my first such experience though Yuvan has done a few sleepover at his best buddy’s place..
On the contrary YuvAn was so looking forward and excited that all of us could feel the vibes literally .. He was super relaxed and chilling it out too, after getting all his SA marks and yes!, he had hit his target., Do I have to explain more?
We did a little shopping and got him a sleeping bag and he was so excited about that as well as his FIFA World Cup themed neck pillow ..and we use it as much as possible .. Lol 🙂
Off he went to the camp, and I was anxious …but he seemed fine … Hmmm..it’s always the mom jitters will he eat properly to will he remember to put on his mosquito patch!!!
The parents were invited for the camp fire and I loved every bit of it ..right from their camp songs to the competitions and what not! More importantly, Yuvan seemed to be enjoying himself and in the camp mood completely ..
After the campfire bonding I was happy and content; and so I think I slept pretty well..
He had good time with his buddies …
And when I picked him up, I was anxious and he was tired and slept straight 5 hours during the day… And for some weird reason he kept eating every 2hrs after that for the next two days…
Well.. he is looking forward for his next overnight camping!
I am completely dumbstruck and happy
with the below! And so …. I have decided to frame it! I love you Yuvan with all my heart!
Massage with a message!
I couldn’t believe myself when I didn’t get any hand made card from Yuvan for Mother’s Day, though he had given enough clues that he had been working on one and planning to buy something from the book shop.. I believe his plans didn’t materialize because of his sudden viral fever and he had to skip school in between exams.. But it is still a mystery that the ‘work in progress’ card never made it to me!! Hmmm…
But, me being me, told him I will be glad if I get one though it’s late.. He promised that he will give it sooner..
Last night as we were watching his favourite sport, I told him that my elbows are painful.. He immediately said he will do a head to toe massage for me!! He offers his service to Eash most of the time and after a few times Eash has been appreciating him with words and monetary benefits – lol which he saves in to his piggy bank!
Today, after his offer I said, ‘so, how much is it?’ Then he uttered a sentence that floored me…
‘I do not do this for money.. I do this for you with love Ma’ (awwww!)
‘So are you trying to convince me ‘cos you haven’t given me a mother’s day card yet?’, I asked. He said, ‘may be yes.. This is for mother’s day ma .. And I will give u a card by tomo’
And he really makes a sincere effort to give his best massage and it spans from 15 mins to 45 mins. And, he is good at it!! Love you Yuvan! And yes, the best Mother’s Day gift !!
‘Elephants lays eggs. Rt??’
That was a bomb from Yuvan! That was two days ago ! And guess what was my reaction? ‘That dirty look!’ And he goes, ‘oh yeah yeah yeah .. Sorry’ and he laughs crazily !! Lol !
Either it was too much science or too less science or just ‘it happens too’ moment !! Hilarious !!
But I told him that even for a moment I can’t accept that with the quantity of non-fiction books he reads !! And the NGC he watches and it’s just that simple ! But anyways, I have taken it as ‘it does happen!’ moment!
I have been making fun of him using this incident during our science revisions and I think he is taking it as a good sport!
Ha ha, on a lighter note, if elephants lays eggs, I am sure it will be the second biggest to dinosaurs 🙂
A special note !
We have been practicing leaving notes for Yuvan to read for a few weeks now.. But it’s generally has been from me.. But there was a surprise two days ago for Yuvan!
